Ashley
Flaner
Certified
Pilates Instructor
Ashley has dedicated her
life after college to helping people achieve a balance of mind, body
and spirit. After a serious back injury, she turned to Pilates a
method of rehabilitation and was fascinated by its power to
transform from the inside out. Now she delights in her ability to
share this knowledge with her clients as well as the young ballet
students she instructs.
While earning her B.A. in dance at UC Irvine, Ashley had the
opportunity to study with American Ballet Theater and National
Conservatory of Paris as well as performing with Donald McKayle’s
‘Etudes Ensemble’. Upon her return to the Bay Area in 2002, she
danced professionally with ‘Company C Contemporary Ballet’ for four
and a half years and became an instructor at her alumni ballet
school, Contra Costa Ballet Center, where she is still employed.
Trained and certified at the Contra Costa Pilates Center (CCPC) in
Walnut Creek under the direction of Lisa Goldin, Ashley experienced
various Pilates techniques which gives her the unique ability to
train clients according to their specific needs. Goldin, a third
generation Joseph Pilates student, was the two-time recipient of the
prestigious Diablo Magazine ‘Best Pilates Studio’ award which
enabled her to provide a truly authentic Pilates atmosphere. Ashley
continues to work with her clients at CCPC and enjoys seeing them
reach their personal fitness goals.
Ashley is excited to be a member of the staff at LHC where she looks
forward to making Pilates a non-intimidating experience that is
accessible to members of all ages and physical limitations.
Jody
Frost, CPI, CMT
Certified
Pilates Instructor
Jody has been involved in dance and fitness for over 20 years, both
as an avid student and practitioner. She came to Pilates due to
chronic pain from dance related injuries. The injuries healed and
her enthusiasm for the modality continued to grow. As her body has
matured, she finds it to be a form of fitness that keeps her active,
strong and supple. It played a big part in her ability to recover
from cancer and surgery as rapidly as she did, 2 years ago.
Jody thoroughly enjoys the ongoing process of discovering new and
innovative ways to explore the established repertoire designed by
Joseph Pilates. It gives her great pleasure to teach and share her
knowledge and skills with students both new to the form and those
familiar with it.

Orlena Lackenbauer
Yoga/Pilates Instructor
Orlena has been in the healing arts and fitness industry for 19 years.
Her practice as a massage therapist and conditioning fitness
instructor began to take a toll on her body. When she began taking
Yoga and eventually became an instructor (certified at two different
schools), her strength, flexibility and self esteem improved
dramatically.
The restriction and discomfort in her neck and wrists subsided. She
felt more alive, and at ease in her body. When Pilates hit the scene,
Orlena finished her teacher’s training at the ‘Turning Point’ Studio
in Walnut Creek. She teaches several innovative Pilates mat classes
using roller, ring, balls, plates and bands and has found her own core
strength and balance better than ever. She has seen and heard
wonderful testimonies from students who take both Yoga and Pilates two
or more times a week, that their balance, posture and spine
flexibility has improved.
Orlena believes that fitness classes can be fun and educational. She
takes care to explain and demonstrate how proper alignment and
modifications can prevent injuries and create longer, stronger
muscles; deeper concentration skills, fuller breath and overall
feel-good. Join Orlena and enjoy the mature years in grace and
laughter.
